Obituary of Marie Cormier

Marie Kathryn Cormier, 99 years young, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2024, at Alpine Assisted Living Facility. She was born on December 22, 1924, in Centralia, Washington , to Albert Otto and Alma (Teitzel) Schuffenhauer. She was a proud resident of Shelton and was a 1942 graduate of Irene S. Reed High School. Marie was the second of six siblings. She was predeceased by her parents & brothers, Louis, Verne & Lee. She is survived by her best friend and youngest sister, Arlene Davidson, her children, Clifford (Jo) Cowling, Carol (David) Lund, Tessie (Jeff) Thompson, Donna (Scott) Johnson. Married to Warren Cowling until his death, and to James E. Cormier until his death in Feb 1987. She is survived by six grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her greatest passions were first & foremost family, cooking, knitting, gardening, and watching Mariners games. She was a member of the hospital auxiliary.
